How To Care For Your Jewelry

Brass metal jewelry:

Jewelry made with brass or silver will naturally oxidize over time. Brass jewelry will change color with time and wear with formation of dark area or patina. This is completely normal. The original shine and beauty can be restored by:

a. clean with a soft non-abrasive or microfiber cloth or

b. you can polish using opaque toothpaste and soft toothbrush or cloth or

c. clean with gentle dishwashing detergent (preferably Dawn) in warm water and soft toothbrush or cloth or

d. clean with ketchup paste and soft toothbrush or cloth or

e. polish using equal parts lemon juice and vinegar combined with baking soda to form a paste or

f. polish with combined warm water and baking soda paste. Use a soft toothbrush to apply this DIY cleaner in gentle motions and movements or

g. with Brasso Metal Polish paste

After polishing, rinse the paste off with water and pat dry immediately to remove moisture from jewelry.

When not wearing your jewelry, store in a cool dry place to minimize exposure to oxidation-causing air and humidity.

Sterling silver metal jewelry:

Jewelry made with sterling silver will tarnish when exposed to water, chemical, or other elements. The original shine and beauty can be restored by:

a. clean with a soft non-abrasive, a simple microfiber cloth, or special jewelry cloth (not paper towels or toilet paper) to clean your goods.

When not wearing your jewelry, store in a cool dry place to minimize exposure to oxidation-causing air and humidity.

Beaded, Goldplated, Silverplated, or Blackplated jewelry:

Do not wear jewelry in the shower, swimming pool, hot tube, hot springs, or while exercising.

Avoid leaving them in direct sunlight for long periods of time because the bead colors can eventually fade.

Avoid direct contact with lotions, perfumes, or tother beauty products. The chemicals contained in these products can damage the beads. We recommend applying your favorite beauty products before putting on your Ro & Gieo jewelry.
